happy birthday to me

I can't believe that I'm 47 years old today. Where did the time go?

best shop bought sandwich ever...probably

I had a ham, cheese and pickle sandwich from Morrisons today at lunchtime and is wondeful. Everything just tasted really fresh, like I had just made it myself. The crust of the bread even had a little bit of crunch to it. How did they do that? Highly recommended.

gone baby gone

Just watched Gone Baby Gone. Ben Afleck did a fine job writing and directing. Little Casey did a fine job of acting. Bloody good film. Had me on the edge of my seat for a few moments. I imagine it will win Oscars for Best Actor and Best Film. 4/5 stars, I think. Go see it, you will not be disappointed. Oh, alright, you might be, but don't come crying to me if you are.

dokker who

Last night Babycake watched Doctor Who for the first time. Of course he had seen it before, but hadn't really watched it. This time he was engaged from the very beginning when Mrs McMuffin and I started singing "dokker whoooo, dok, dok, dokker who" to the theme tune (if you can imagine that). He sat quietly cuddled up with Mrs McMuffin watching the entire episode. I'm not sure what he made of it all, and a couple of times I did wonder if it was a little too scary for him. At the end of the excellent episode (The Library, I think) Babycake jumped up demanding "more dokker who!" He seemed happy to accept that there was no more and lay back on the couch quietly singing to himself "dokker whooo".

I think we have now done our bit as parents and introduced another British child to the wonders of Doctor Who.
