pots and pans
I have wanted some new pots and pans for a while now. The ones we had were collected over many years and they had all seen better days. I admired a very nice mid-price range a couple of years ago but could not persuade Mrs McMuffin that they were worth the money. However, yesterday I saw them in TKMAXX for less than half the price that I would have been willing to pay for them all that time ago. They still looked like mighty fine pots to me. Mrs McMuffin hatched a cunning pre-birth, nest building, everything has got to be cleaned NOW, plan. She agreed that I could get new pots if I sorted out the ones that we have and cleaned out the cupboard where they are stored. After a couple of trips to different TKMAXX stores I was able to get us a variety of pots in different sizes from a little baby milk pan through to a huge 6 litre stock pot. I also got a new griddle pan, a saute pan and a couple baby non-stick skillets. I got the lot for about £150 which is quite a bargain as far as I am concerned.
I thought the clearing out the cupboard was going to be the hard part, but when it came down to it, it was dead easy. I just chucked everything out!
Now all I need is a new Le Crueset saute/casserole pan and a steamer and I'll be away.
It is all very satisfying.
By the way, Happy Easter!

Congratulations on the new pots. This is the set I've been lusting after:

Very nice, Karan. Go on, treat yourself. A few clicks and they could be yours.

Ducky that is one of my favourite quests. I once travelled to or called 12 Home Goods stores (our house wares division of TKMaxx, which we call Tjmaxx - why? who knows?) to find a matching end table to one I found locally and in the end I scored. It's one of those little thrills in life. I have also found some all-clad pans over the years mismarked and scored them for the 20.00 range instead of the 120.00 range. Sadly that doesn't happen so much anymore.
Ah Le Crueset, we have outlets here where they sell the colours that are being retired at a nice 20-30% discount, o you have them over there?
