sad geek
Tonight we were watching the movie, The Lives of Others, which was great, by the way, when they mentioned that the Berlin Wall started to come down on the 9 November. I went, "oh, the 9th November" thinking that I recognised that as the date of some other momentous occasion. It suddenly dawned on me that the other momentous occasion was in fact the release of the iPhone in the UK. Even I realise that this was a little bit sad.

Oh well. Acknowledging the problem is the beginning of a solution. So...speaking of Berlin Wall stories...see Good Bye Lenin and The Tunnel. Most excellent movies, both!

Haven't heard of The Tunnel, but is Good Bye Lenin the one about the women who was in a coma and her family have to pretend that the GDR still exists? Good movie, if it is.

I have to rent that movie....I recommend "The Best of Youth" by Giordana if you are looking for a long, absorbing film. It was an Italian miniseries. We just finished it, it took awhile, but we loved it.
