sitting here...

...drinking one of the worst cups of coffee that I have ever tasted. The panini was awful too. Just thought I'd say that.

You can't say things like that without saying where you're having it.

You're right. You can find the crime against lunch here: http://www.bbscoffeeandmuffins.com/

Never heard of them before, but I see they have stores in Stockton & Hartlepool. I'll have to see if they're as bad as you say. By the way, I'm writing this on my Sony-Ericsson W800i, £60 and £10 a month. I'm planning a world cruise with the money that saves me.

Oh, sure, your phone is cheaper, but mine is so much more cooler. I little sliver of steel and glass that is so easy to use. I have used a variety of these monster things over the years, and trying to be objective, well as much as a fanboy can be, it really is better. The writing to stuff could be a pain, but now that I have discovered that I can store documents on my Gmail account through gDisk and that the notes I make in Mail are automatically synced, that kind of takes care of all that. Go on, you know you want one...

I suppose if I wanted to do more than make calls, send texts and occasionally browse the web & take photos I might want a "better" phone (having said that, my phone's camera is better than yours na na na na), but even then I wouldn't pay the current rate for a iPhone + contract package. ;-)

"I suppose if I wanted to do more than make calls, send texts and occasionally browse the web & take photos..." Sure I wanted an iPhone for the sheer geeky wonder of it all, but what I hadn't really banked on was that the beautiful simplicity of it just working and being similar to my desktop apps is that I want to use it more. There is no effort involved in sending emails or browsing. I have had a few so called smart phones over the years and they have all given me grief. Anyway, I love my phone, and if you ever get a change to play with one for any length of time, I'm sure you will too.

Perhaps, but I still would baulk at the price and would still not use it for more than calls and texts. I really can live without the internet 24/7.
