low cunning

After almost two weeks of Babycake being unable to sleep before half ten, due to toothache, we have tried all remedies and are now at our last resort, the car. Mr McMuffin has taken him for a drive and hopes that if the boy sucks up a nice warm bottle of milk, he just might fall into an (early) sleep.

I hear that there are babies that sleep through the night from three months of age and go gladly to bed and can be left alone in the night. I would like one of these mythical creatures next please.

When I was fussy and wouldn't sleeop, my parents used to take me out in the convertible, top down, playing the Mama's and the Papa's. Mom said she would feed me in the car and other ladies would pull up next to them at the light (my parents were 16 nd 17) and give her nasty looks like the fresh air was going to kill me.
I still get all wistful when I hear california dreamin' and we all know about my love of cars.

Neither of my kids slept through the night on a regular basis until they were around two...and then the girl used to wait until we were asleep and wander around the house and sometimes go outside. That was about the same time we installed a deadbolt and used the baby gate on her bedroom door. Coincidence? I think not.

I think I need to clarify that we put the deadbolt on the front door to the house, not her bedroom door. Just so you know.

It took our younger daughter a while to learn how to sleep through the night because she had reflux for the first 6 months and had to left upright in a car seat overnight... but otherwise, they were pretty close to the mythical creatures you have heard of. Mind you, now they won't leave us alone at all when they are awake. The 5 year old can't even be parked in front of the telly for 30 minutes by herself before she seeks company. I don't know how they ended up so extroverted, but it's too late now.
