Babycake is fine and hasn't continued with his epicurean adventures. In other news, to send a chill down the spine of people with small children, pets or photographic equipment that they really care about, a little girl was abducted from her holiday apartment in Portugal. Obviously you feel for the parents, but not that much. How on earth could these people think it was ok to leave three children under three alone in an apartment, while they ate at a nearby restaurant? Let's hope that poor child gets found soon and is unharmed.

Not sure I agree with your order (I'd say photographic equipment / pets / kids) but I agree about not feeling too much for the parents, especially as there was a free childminding service available - The complex offers a creche service but the couple decided to leave Madeleine and two-year-old twins Sean and Amelie sleeping in the apartment.

Exactly. I thought I was the only one who thought this was unacceptable, so it was a relief to read your post.
Well, I suppose they won't ever do it again when (thinking positively there) they get their child back.

Yes, let's hope they get their daughter back, are more sensible in future and make use of the child care. Even if the worst hadn't happened, I still can't imagine why they weren't thinking that one of the kids could get ill or wake up and would need them. Can you even think of how alone and abandoned a child of that age would feel for half an hour before they came back?

I suppose one never imagines that someone would break into a room and "steal" a child, but I would never go out and leave my camera or money on the bed, even if I was coming back every half hour to check on it. What were these people thinking. I'm surprised they've not been villified by at least some part of the media, I guess eveyone's focus is just on hoping Maddy is returned safely.

Yes, I hope that they haven't been vilified because people are concerned for the child, rather than because they're e nice middle class family. I know if they were Dave and Sharon from Romford wh had nipped out for a few pints and a bag of chips, then there might not be this level of generosity.
