Babycake just ate a snail, shell and all. He gritted his little teeth and wouldn't let me get anywhere near his mouth until he had swallowed it. He then got really upset with me when I wouldn't let him get his hands on any more of the vile things. What next, cat poo?

My cousin at a caterpillar when he was about 15 months old. Just to make his mom freak out more, he even squished it between his teeth when he was done chewing it and then swallowed it. He lived.

I don't know a thing about snails other than some are edible. And they like beer. It seems like there's some show or another on teevee every night of the week showing folks eating all sorts of bugs, so it's probably nothing to worry about.
