belated happy birthday...
...to the Internet. It's 15 years since the web went worldwide (according to the BBC). It is now an unruly adolescent filled with f*@! you notions of freedom, sex, fags and booze. I can't believe it's only 15 years. The internet has become such an important part of our life in only a short while. We just take it for granted, and get pissed off with it when it doesn't provide what we are looking for. Amazing.

It took over my life in 1995 working it with a 14.4 modem and waiting up to 5 minutes for a page to load.
Sex was there on the ground floor but no commercial sites like your Amazons, Opodos or Expedia.
It's still an amazing concept with a wealth of information for all www.sandalandsoxer.co.uk for example

I suppose 15 years must be about right. It was about that long ago that I built my first PC and the 9600baud modem cost more than most PCs do these days. And as for the printer... I almost needed to re-mortgage to afford that! It's amazing how much costs have dropped these last 15 years.
