new music...sort of
I haven't mentioned any new music in ages. I have just discovered Electrelane, an all-girl band from Brighton who know how to rock. I am currently listening to their debut album, released in 2001 Rock It to the Moon. It's kind of hard to describe the music, but Mogwai springs to mind as I listen to them. Each track builds driven by urgent beats and bass, and lots and lots of organ. The tracks seem to go on for ages, as if they couldn't quite bring themselves to stop. Excellent stuff. Here's a track from the album called Gabriel. Enjoy.

For once I am ahead of you there!
I saw them at 'One Live in Brighton' in 2003, and although I didn't think much of them at the time I quickly became hooked on 'I Want To Be The President'. It was much better live than any recording I can find.
My gun is bigger than yours...

Hmm, it's an album of largely instrumental tracks and I'm not a fan of instrumentals (bulletproof cupid aside). "Gabriel" sounded quite interesting, if only it had lyrics...
