we shall tell all
Just to reassure our readers, some of whom are my own flesh and blood, that despite our notorious unsociability on occasions ( we really do mean to return the messages you leave on the answer machine, honest) we shall let you know when something starts to happen with the Bairn.
He's not due until Sunday and Mr McMuffin and I think he might bide his time and decide to show himself the week after this. We have no idea why we feel this might be the case, although it might be wishful thinking on my part-he's so much easier to look after where he is right now, so I'm not in any desperate hurry to go through the ordeal of childbirth just to satisfy my curiosity, he'll come along when he's good and ready. I hope he's not too late though, as my midwife did say something about inducing after 12 days over the due date and I'd definitely have to deliver in hospital then.
At the moment we're both just trying to relax and wait things out. My version of relaxation has been frenetic cleaning, tidying and organising of all our rubbish, but that's fine as I've still got some energy and I continue to sleep better now than I have done for the last five months. Mr McMuffin has been a sweetheart and indulged me with umpteen shopping trips for all those last minute items that I'm sure the boy cannot survive without. Tomorrow we're going to see a film and carry on just enjoying being the two of us, for as long as that lasts.

Well, I for one am checking in each day. Enjoy your solitary days. I remember with great tenderness the day before our first child was born and we went for a long walk in the autumn air.

Dear McMuffins,
Just wanted to let you know that Mr Iowahawk and I have been thinking of you both and the dear little cupcake on the way, or as our son used to say, "pupcake". Best wishes!

Loretta and Mrs Iowahawk, it's lovely to know that you've both been popping in to check on the 'pupcake'. He's been kicking a lot today, so perhaps he is trying to get out after all.

I've only just stumbled across this site, here after jokingly googling a word a friend used in her blog hoping to find a racy link to give her in return.
Anyway, good luck with the wee one and enjoying your days of freedom and just being a couple before his arrival! I hope all goes well. I can hardly remember the days and weeks just before my little girl was born, but I do remember the cleaning and the odd OCD-like organization of closets with color-coded hangers.
I take it you are hoping to have a home birth with your midwife? I wish I could have done that!

Oops, was me commenting before-yes, I am planning to have a home birth and have been lucky to have a very supportive midwife and husband.
