holy communion, batman...
We've been out shopping and eating noodles today with Ms Gypsy Tart. She choose today to reveal her deep dark secret. Apparently, she has received eucharist. Now, Ms Gypsy Tart is a bit of a non-believer, so I was a little bit surprised when she told me. She went on to explain that when she used to look after old people, a priest used to come around to offer communion to the residents. One day he came while she was on shift and rather than be impolite, she took the wafer when it was offered. She said, "I just didn't like to say no." Is it just me, or is that really very odd?

If they really want to make such an archaic ceremony relevant, there needs to be some modernising to this whole body of Jesus thing. Kentucky Fried Christ, anyone?

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

Maybe the gypsy just wanted some bread ...to go with her tart, so to speak.

We have some very strange friends. How is it possible to accidently take communion?

It wasn't accidental, I was dared! Every Christmas the whole school had to troop down to the local church, freeze our butts off and troop back. One year to entertain ourselves we all dared each other to 'do' communion. So when the time came during the service, half the school filed up to the alter to receive communion. I didn't have the balls to look at the teachers faces but it must have been a picture. Needless to say the next year's service did not include communion!
