boring me now with simple division

Big yawn, more arses with bombs trying to kill people. I bet they call themselves the 'multiples of seven gang' or something equally pathetic. Anyway, I don't care enough about them to speculate any more, I'm just pissed off that I've only had a few short years in my life when the fear of a bomb going off wasn't with me and now I've got it back again.

I'm glad in a perverse sort of way that I grew up with the anxiety of the IRA attacks, as it does make me a bit better prepared than the poor Canadians I work with, who are half convinced they'll be blown up in the next few hours and are questioning whether to return back home. Still, they'll always have good stories to tell of how they were in London during the attacks (safely ensconced ten miles away) and gain that air of glamour that comes with living a little dangerously. For the rest of us, sadly, it's business as usual.

I'm so sorry the fear of the bombs is back.

What a world.

Well, South London is the place to be......Believe you me Stockwell would never be glamourous, exciting or full of tales 'to tell back home', even if the entire CSI cast turned up to dust the crime scene.
I am beginning to wonder.
Stockwell - the interchange I used every time I get on the tube; Warren Street - about to get on Victoria line to go to meeting in rehearsals rooms 150 yards from station; Harrow Rd - other place I used to hang out on a semi permanent basis in London (though long term lover has now moved to....South London); Brixton (where item of suspects clothing ended up) - where aforementioned lover has now moved to....
There was also the nail-bomber couple of years ago in Brixton ( and at The Admiral Duncan in Soho), - caught of camera by friend of mine.
The thing is the list just goes on - BUT the point is - we are all STILL more likely to get run over by a bus, than be exploded sitting in one.

Londoners being Londoners we WILL stoically 'get on with it'. However that doesn't mean that he politicians of this country can use us as canon fodder to blindly pursue policies that AT THE VERY LEAST fuel the fire of the extremists; and then deny all sense of responsibilty.

This is not a cry to bow down to extremists.Far from it. But if we are living in a society that nutures this behaviour, there lies a responsibilty in us all to attempt to understand it; and a bigger responsibilty for those in power to make global changes in how we understand each other.
