roast potatoes
Are we the only people to have discovered the joys, and I don't use that word lightly, of frozen roast potatoes? I bought a bag a few weeks ago just to see what they were like. They are fantastic. Crisp on the outside and lovely and fluffy on the inside. The best bit is that they are done in about 30 minutes. We have now introduced Mr Rock Cake, a roast potato aficionado if ever there was one, and he has become hopelessly addicted to them. Last night, it was Ms Ginger Cake's turn. She was so easy to convert. I imagine that her shopping trolley will be filled with frozen roast potatoes this weekend. The only problem that I can see with them is that the list of ingredients, which insists that they are made with real potato, states there is only 88% potato in them. I am a little scared to think about what could be in that lost 12%. It's probably best not to think about it too much. Do yourself a favour, try them.
I know, I know, of course they're not as good as real potatoes cooked in goose fat, but they are still very good.

Hmmm, frozen roast potatoes... you'll be reporting that you love Pot Noodles next.
What brand were you raving about. I have yet to discover one that resembles a real potato. Tsk.

The UK version must be better than ours here. I SO wanted to love them, but unfortunately the US versions aren't fit for humans and Mac the Dog didn't even really love them.

We're big fans of McCain's Home Roasts, and I'm not afraid to name names!

wft is all that, err can't think of a better word than "crap", at the left down the bottom here? It looks like spam!

That 'crap' is the new advertising feature from Typepad. They have entered into a 'partnership' with some company. They pay me $2 a month for keeping it there. I tried to sign up for the full thingy but they turned me down. Can you imagine, they turned me down. I have never been so insulted. Anyway, they can stick their $2 where the sun don't shine. It looks crap and it's coming off. Now if they were to offer me $3 I might reconsider.

I didn't even know about it. What is "the full thingy" and what are the joining criteria? Obviously pretty tight if your fine blog doesn't qualify. Would that look any better? This stuff looks so crap I can't believe sixapart have put their name to it.
