note to self
No matter what the temptation, please try to avoid any overtly political blogging as it often offends people who really like Mr Bush and support the war in (against?) Iraq. While generally you have not counted these people among your friends, you realise that you should not limit your circle to those who agree with you on important issues. Remember that you can tolerate dissent, some of your best friends do not admire the work of Charlie Sheen, while you know that he is not wooden and unable to act his way out of a paper bag, but a sensitive actor who gives the appearance of not really acting at all, but in the style of Anthony Hopkins inhabits the part. Remember you can learn from the US right wing, their use of language to demonise is second to none and as a compliment to our lovely commenter who took time to write a well thought out and lengthy response, you will try and incorporate the words terror master into ordinary conversation.

I wonder just how many people are employed by Bush and co to blog propaganda nonsense comments? The SM Health woman counts as one, I assume.

Actually, my thoughts are my own, as I assume yours are, and Mrs. McMuffin's are. I really like this blog and thought a different point of view would be listened to, although probably not agreed with. I'm sorry I offended you, best wishes to you all especially Slinky. Goodbye.

Sarah, I am sorry if I laid it on a bit heavy. I have listened to your point of view, although I think it is obvious that I do not share it. To be fair, my mind was made up a long time ago as I was involved in anti war protest in the UK before we even invaded Iraq and nothing I have read subsequently has changed my mind.
I am very disturbed by the US right wing and their attempts to silence 'liberal' opposition and even if Bush isn't directly the mouthpiece (although I seem to recall he has voiced a view that there is a connection), there is a clear agenda to link 9/11 and Iraq in the minds of the American people and this inaccuracy is not being corrected
This post wasn't directed at you, but as I read it again I can see that it might read as if it was and I realise my attempts at humour can be a bit heavy handed. I did mock the use of 'terror master' while acknowledging your full and thoughtful response. I do not apologise for drawing attention to this phrase as it does remind me of some of the language used by the Bush administration to demonise and sounds very strange to British ears. It may be standard fare in the US, I don't know.
Finally, you have not offended me and my post was in a way a tribute to difference and diversity. I think it's the difference between a phone call and an email-often the humour gets missed (but I have to bear responsibility for a failure to convey it). I have replied publicly to you because I think it's important that I acknowledge that I am sorry to have upset you and if you choose not to visit again then that's very sad. If you do want to come back again, you will be very welcome.

I'm back already Mrs. McMuffin, I was feeling as if I'd been a little huffy -- and anyway I can't resist your lovely blog! Three cheers for difference and diversity, and thanks for being so nice about it. I'm glad we can agree to disagree, I think you are just great and a real class act.

...and you are very gracious and very welcome.

People like you make me sick. I dread to think of the future of mankind when people like you have the ability to bear children and breed. You are dull, senseless and suffer a strangely false sense of superiority. Your views and opinions neither serve to show your intelligence (or lack thereof) nor your ability to grasp the politics and beliefs of the world you (unfortunately) find yourself in.
I recoil in horror with each paragraph of trite claptrap that unfolds when reading your blog.
If you seriously wish to continue this 'debate' I have absolutely no problem in providing you with my details. I just restrained myself from leaving them here as an onslaught of sick dullard whinge'ing from your 'fans' would be more than my inbox could stand.
Good day.
G.

Initially I was going to ignore your comment, 'G', but I dare you to leave your blog details so that I can visit to wonder at the level of intelligence and sound reasoning I am bound to find there. What's that, 'Gp'? You haven't got one? Prefer trolling other people's blogs rather than opening yourself up for scrutiny? I thought as much.
PS Is Mr McMuffin exempt from your evilness, or is it just me?

Ugh, ugh! What a horrible person and what horrible things to say to our mrs mcmuffin! What a lonely, mean person.
