so this is what happened to her...
I'm sure you remember Tanita Tikaram, who had a couple of hits 15 or 20 years ago. I was looking for one of them this morning and came across Feeding The Witches from 1995. This woman has been doing a lot of boozing and smoking by the sound of things. She has always had a deep voice, but on this song she seems to be edging into Tom Waits territory. It's a lovely song and she sounds great on it.

I love Tanita Tikaram, but unfortunately my CDs of her have gone walkabout over the last 12 years here in Brazil and it's impossible to buy them here. Oh, well. Bearshare here we come!

I loved her first album, from the late-80s. And then I never heard from her again. Pity. Is any of her later stuff at all, er, cheery?

I LOVED her. She always reminded me a bit of Lisa Marie Presley(visually) and Toni Childs (sonically)
