Would you like some of my chocolate?

That's a kind offer, but never fear, I have my own stash of Green and Black's 'smooth dark chocolate with real coffee' right beside me...and I'm not a big choccy eater usually!

How about a compromise. Tell them that your role is untenable without adequate support and that, unless support is forthcoming, you will have to resign and claim for constructive dismissal?

Got any holiday time spare? If so, then run away for a few days, and hope for a miracle while you're gone!

Good suggestions. I'll think them both through from the martyr and f**k 'em perspectives. I have stacks of annual leave, but am not sure being away would be at all relaxing as I'd have to return and they managed to fuck up big time for the few days I was sick. If I resigned and sued I'd probably never work again, which might be nice, but losing the house would be pretty shitty.
I really wish I could blog in more detail about this stuff, although even self obsessed little me admits that it is rather tedious for anyone else! I do feel a bit better for having moaned though, so thankyou very much for listening and taking the time to respond.

Whichever course you choose, cover your back and make sure that you've got something in writing that shows you were drawing attention to any inadequacies.

Oh dear, it seems like your job is as dislikeable as mine. KP

oh dear - in a really selfish way you have made me feel better about my job.
McMuffin! Come and work with me.....I spent friday afternoon dressing fully grown, sane ( or so they profess) men in shabby pyjama bottoms, slash neck tee shirts and bowler hats at a jaunty angle..... now which of us needs the therapy?????! sometimes I know not whether to laugh or cry at the pointlessness of it all...
