Thekillers

Two great albums in two days. This must be some kind of record. I have been listening to The Killers album Hot Fuss all day. The Killers are an anglophile band from Las Vegas. Apparently they even go so far as to put on English accents. Now, that is very, very sad, but I can forgive them because their music is so good. It's a curious mixture of every British band you can think of from the late 70s and early 80s. All these thing that I've done is probably my favourite track on the album, but there really isn't a duff track on it. I deny anyone not to spend the rest of the day humming the break once they've heard it.

They are a bit Duran Duran, are they not? (this being a good thing, not a bad thing)

Darling, has I known that you hadn't known about the Killers I would have made them known to you sooner. But I know, you see, that you know, you are terribly hip and often way more advanced and knowing about hip musical interludes than I...well you know.

Welcome to the club though, really.

I had heard of them, but you have to take all those best thing since sliced bread stories with a pinch of salt, so I just hadn't heard them. The problem I have is that my pursuit of hip excellence is generally a solitary affair, most of my in the flesh friends are a bit old and tired when it comes to music and their musical tastes seem to have become a bit stuck somewhere in the late 80s. I don't think many of them realise just how hip and cool and trendy I am.

I guess what I am saying is that I want you to tell me about any new bands that you like.

Not bad at all! I have to say though their British accents are lot better than those sported by a lot of British actors in Hollywood.
PS: Don't think of yourself as a product of your parents... think more like the late, great John Peel instead. Way cooler.

That was one of the Advent Calendar gifts I gave to my sister this year. We love that song about a boyfriend looking like a girlfriend.
