a special treat
I've found an album I used to love when I was 18 years old. Nick Guilder had a couple of hits in the US towards the end of the 1970s. He had his biggest hit in 1978 with Hot Child in the City from the album City Nights. Now after all these years it sounds a bit thin and sad, although as I am listening to it I think it still has some charm. Unfortunately I can't provide you with lots of links, because his music doesn't seem to be legally available anymore, and he doesn't seem to have any obsessive fans. It looks like it's up to me to carry the torch. I wonder what happened to him.

I was just digging through my old vinly collection and was listening to my old Nick Guilder collection. I saw the band live in '78 when I was 18. The memory was much more rock than the records. I have 5 albums, and 'Got to get out' kind of a Beatles Day Tripper rip off is still a rocker.

Nick Gilder is alive and well living in "Rainy Wet" Port Moody, BC. He is married and has one child. He lives a normal suburban lifestyle and occasionally goes on tour.
