warning

Polar_express_02We've just seen an amazing TV advert for the new Robert Zemeckis film Polar Express. It actually warned us that the film "contains mild peril". Was that for real? Mrs McMuffin and I would usually find something like this quite amusing but now that we are the proud instant parents of seven we have to consider whether this is a suitable film for our first annual family cinema outing.

Peril? Wow, did it really say "peril?" This strikes me as hilarious. Must be a cultural thing. All I can think of is John Cleese and Michael Palin: "I'm here to save you from the peril!"

It's Tom Hanks. Developing brains might be at risk of trauma through boredom.

Melissa: I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who has had enough of Tom Hanks. Ugh, he is so aggravating.

I took four out of our five children to "The Polar Express" on our *semi*-annual family cinema outting.

My kids loved it and found the peril invigorating--then again, they are huge "Thomas the Tank Engine" fans and anything with a train makes them swoon.

I saw the preview in the theatre last year when I saw Harry P. I thought that it looked quite incredible. They are also playing it over here in 3-D in the IMAX theatres. That I fear might just be too much sensory input.

Another film I really want to see. Alas I have no wee ones to take (Yay!).
