the pits

Mrs McMuffin and I were standing on the platform waiting for a train to take us into London last night when we happened to notice a big poster with information about where we live, including a list of useful numbers. At the very top of this list was a number for the Samaritans. I think that sums up the attractions of living in a semi-industrial wasteland in the south of England.

I can beat that. To get on Cape Cod, where I live, from mainland Massachusetts, you need to cross one of two bridges. At the foot of each is a massive sign that says, "Desperate? Call the Samaritans." plus the phone number. As if to say, "If you're entering Cape Cod, watch out. You life may be in jeopardy."

No one actually jumps form bridges anymore, do they?

Dave; we live down the street from each other...sort of. Who knew?
