green day
How could I have missed Green Day for all these years? For some very strange reason I have completely ignored everything good I have ever heard about Green Day. I don't know what I thought they were about, but I had some unthought idea that they were...you, know, American PUNK, the kind of band that plays everything with a cod-reggae beat. I was wrong, they are a very excellent straight, head-down, rock band. They wear their influences on their sleeve, but in a good way. The Ramones are the first band that come to mind, but I certainly can hear a lot of UK glam in those beats (they have a very good drummer), and oddly enough a little bit of Jam. Mr Rock Cake just happened to mention them the other day, and I thought I'd have a listen to American Idiot. I've been listening to nothing else for the last three days, and I've downloaded all their albums. It's all very sad, really. Mrs McMuffin keeps making monging faces at me (an old boyfriend of hers used to be into them), and I just know her 14 years old neice would do the same if she ever found out.
PS Steve, if you don't already know them (I seem to be the only person who doesn't) I'm sure you will love them.

Green Day rocks out. American Idiot is a great album, worthy of their earlier brilliant works like Dookie or Kerplunk!. Tell Mrs. McMuffin it will be OK. They really are a fantastic band and you haven't gone off your rocker.

Sorry, I "discovered" Green Day way before you (but only when "American Idiot" came out). Have yet to "acquire" complete collection.

Green Day rox! American Idiot is their 7th album and is as great as when they first started with their first album 1,309/smoothed out slappy hours! I love dem'! Billie Joe, Tre and Mike all rock! They are a majorly talented band unlike the likes of Simple Plan and Good Charlotte. Simalarities between Green Day and those other two bands? I think not! They shoulda won all three grammy's that they were up for! Some ppl say Nirvana is better, and even though they are great, I disagree. Green Day is the best band that have ever come to the music industry hands down! I LOVE HOCKEY!I PLAY IT, WATCH IT AND LOVE IT!

OMG GREEN DAY ROX! They r thwe best band that have eva lived. They so totally rock! If u wanna b da best parent, get ur kid a Green Day cd. They will lov u 4 life! I'm also SO siked cause i got tickets to the Green Day concert on April 29th! oh, and if any1 tells u that Green Day is lik Good Charlotte, tell them that they are SO messd up! There is one MAJOR difference: Green Day Rox nd they r SO hott. Good Charlotte SUX nd they r SO UGLY! ROCK ON!!!!! :)

i love Billi-joe have done since I was 16 thats 12 years never been to see them but would realy love to their music is sooooo fab they are american punk rock as it should be!

Are they really "punk rock"? I can't see The Sex Pistols or any of their peers singing songs as melodic and beautiful as some of Green Day's. I think "punk" is a bit of a mis-genre-ing for them.

Good charlotte rox Green day is ok they are not Punk the are pop rock i know gc is not punk either but their fans say there r but even if they have tattoos and pirecings so its their body they can do whatever they want so give gc a chance they could make a difference in your life not to be gothic but they say good things in their new cd the chronicles of life and death.
