...has been short on the ground since my return from holiday. I've got the post holiday blues. We often joke at work that's it's dangerous to take more than 10 days off at a time because it's so horrible to go back and that's how it has been for me. I don't want to be completely stressed and working long hours again and a fortnight of freedom has reminded me of what it feels like to be calm. So my swear rate has returned to the usual level of obscenity and no one's commenting on how well I look any more. I searched iTunes for happy songs and am now playing 'I'm so happy you failed' by Laptop. There, that's cheery.
We're also going to see 'Shrek 2' en masse tonight which is a good reason to smile. Mr McMuffin is cooking a lovely meal right now and I haven't had to clear up any cat poo for days. I think things might be getting better

Here's how I described you in my "blog roll", hope you approve... "The Mc Muffins
Amusing, often obscure, like the Archers, you need to tune in daily."

I feel your misery. Once when I was still a librarian and Library Land, I took 2 weeks off. Going back and getting in the swing of things was almost painful. In fact, I was so pathetic I think I even cried. It wasn't too long thereafter that I left, but 20 years doing the same work is enough to make anybody cry.

That's a very nice description, although the Archers theme tune is my signal to change the station!
I wish I could claim 20 years in the same work, but it has been a long time and I'm not very good at doing the same job for long-3 years is my record.
