daleks again...

dalek

I have spent the day in the Royal Courts of Justice. What a boring day. Our hearing was at risk, and in the end, after sitting around for most of the day, we found out that we couldn't get before a Judge. On my way back to Charing Cross I stopped off at the Stanley Gibbons stamp shop, who have branched out into other obsessional collecting items. They now have the most fantastic collection of Dr Who toys and other stuff. I could have spent a fortune. Instead, I limited myself to buying Mrs McMuffin her very own Dalek. It is fantastic. It's about 10" tall and says a variety of terrifying Dalek things. The detail is amazing, if you look at it right, you could almost persuade yourself that it's real. I took this photo while balancing the Dalek on our garden wall. I then did a little doctoring (ahem...) in Photoshop. It reminds me of some of the special effects that they used to use on the series.

All I have to do now is make sure Mrs McMuffin doesn't see this post before I have a chance to give her the thing.

I'm sure I read somewhere once that someone changed their name to Roy Al Courtsofjustice to claim the corresponding domain name.
It always springs to mind whenever I hear about the Royal Courts of Justice on TV (or on a blog, like just now).

I was fantasising about stealing the beautiful stain glass windows for our house when I was there yesterday. Have you been? It is a lovely building, well worth a wander around. You could even pop into a trial while you were there.

Mrs mcMuffin, does this Dalek compensate for your childhood robot you once had?

Posted by: Mrs Carrot Cake | 6 Jul 2004 18:48:23

That robot is still under the floorboards where you and Gypsy Tart put him after telling me I was too old to still have a toy robot! Yes, this dalek is some compensation for the emotional trauma of that event.

You've made me giggle......were we that horrible?

Posted by: Mrs Carrot Cake | 7 Jul 2004 19:11:10

On occasions, yes! However, I do recall my fair share of being a nasty thing. I was not terribly sympathetic to your squashed hamster, once I left your house I recall laughing fit to bust. That was very wrong of me.

You are so evil. Did you laugh about my cat too?

Posted by: Mrs Carrot Cake | 8 Jul 2004 21:24:52

No. Never. (crossing fingers)
