Never let it be said that we are not responsive to our loyal reader. I have removed the Christmas countdown from our site. Even though there are only 173 days left until Christmas, I have decided that maybe, just maybe, we were a little bit quick of the mark. However, just remember that you read about it first on this site. The countdown will be back.

LOl! Thank you! :-) It was the blogging equivalent of singing Christmas carols out of season, and it would have only brought you bad luck. There must be something else of note happening between now and the proper time for a Christmas countdown - otherwise known as Advent! ;-)
If you can't find anything sooner, what about Bonfire Night? Or Halloween? Or August Bank Holiday? (OK, I'm really scraping the bottom of the barrel with that one!)
Maybe other people have some suggestions?

I went on a course last week (in a hotel, taxpayers) Christmas party packages were being advertised with a little display including a cracker and tinsel.
