look what i found...

When I went to bed last night, I was confronted by the sight of not one, but two cats, relaxing on our bed. How quickly things change. It is only a few days since Ra decided that maybe, just maybe, and I am not sure he has entirely made up his mind, that we could be trusted enough for him to come within ten feet of us, and now he is sleeping on our bed. I slipped into bed, leaving them where they were. They lay contentedly for a few minutes, until I watched Slink quietly reach over and cuff Ra across the face, which started a bit of a hissy fight. He reminded me so much of growing up with my brothers and sisters, when one of us would do something completely out of the blue to wind up the other, and then sit back with a look of "who me?" on our faces. Poor Ra, I don't think his introduction into our little family is going to go smoothly, even though the cats have lived together all of their lives.

Aren't their owners wondering where they are?

Their 'owner', if you want to call her that, is the evil neighbour who pokes them with sharpened pencils. (I really hope she never reads this blog!) She has gone away for the weekend, and has asked us to feed the cats, take the cats to bed with us, steal the cats affections from her, that sort of thing. It is working out very nicely for us, because we could never afford to buy two such expensive pedigree cats, Ra is a long haired siamese, and she takes care of any vet bills. It is the perfect pet owning arrangement.

"Ra is a long haired siamese, and she takes care of any vet bills."
Wow, I've never seen a cat with a chequebook!
*giggle*
Oh, hang on a minute, Ra's a 'he', not a 'she', right? Oh, you must mean the owner! :-)

Nice to see we're not the only ones with an unamde bed!
Slinky looks so sweet in that pic. Aaaw!

I don't think that beds should be made during the day as where does all the pints of water go that we all sweat out at night? I do prefer to fold the bedding at the end of the bed, but am too lazy to do this on a regular basis.
Mr McMuffin maintains that the bed was made, it was the cats that messed it up. He is the man, though who after spending all day at home with the house looking messy blames Slink for using all the cups and plates up and not putiing them in the dishwasher.

Excuse me, but who will be taking care of your kity menagerie whilst you sip cafes in Madeira?
Hmmmmmm?
And I know the BEagle firmly plants herself on the bed just before we go to work to stop us from making the bed. She knows it is far more comfy with messed up sheets and blankets for nooks and crannies.

Isn't it ridiculous that we have to make plans to look after Slinky while we are away? However, Gypsy Tart will be doing the deed and possibly guest blogging.
