slink movie...

I thought I would share with you the torture that we are put through every morning by the lovely Slink. Every morning he leaps on my chest and cries in my face to wake me up. He comes downstairs with me, has something to eat, then demands to be let back upstairs to stand on Mrs McMuffin's head, or at least that is what she says he does. If you don't let him have what he wants, he will cry and cry and cry. He can keep it up for an hour. This is a little movie I made this morning, using the lovely iSight camera and iMovie, just to give you a little taster of what we go through with this animal (I've stripped the movie right back so that it is only about 1Mb in size). This is not the most terrible sound he makes. He has a special one that he reserves for the hallway, for some reason. It is a low guttural scream that seems to go on forever. If you go out to him, he stops, and looks at you as if you are a bit mad. In his special catty fashion, he seems to be saying, "noise, what noise, I didn't hear anything."

Ummmm, at the risk of appeasring terribly blonde...I couldn't see the linky to watch slinky.

Am I missing someting or have you MAC people figured out how to stop us Windoze people from having fun?

Alas, I am a blonde loser. Found it! He certainly tells you two where to go doesn't he? So who rules the roost now?

Maybe I should change the colour of the links!

By the way, the film looks that way primarily because I have the new software disease, and find myself willing to pile special effect on top of special effect. Maybe my filmaking will become more subtle in the future...

Jo, after three long teays of working at us, we are now Slinky's bitches. He yowls, we jump. We can interpret his cries and rush to meet his needs, we spend time saying to each other, 'look, he's being cute'. The pair of us should really get out more!

Slinky should meet Bob. I bet Bob could out-meow Slinky in a whinging contest any day. He too can keep the meows up for hours at a time until he either gets what he wants (usually food) or gives up and goes into power-save mode for fear of wasting away (not likely - have you seen the size of him?).
Cute film. Bob wasn't in the slightest bit bothered by the meows coming from the computer, but Coco woke up and looked around worriedly.

I would be hesitant about introducing them as Slinky is such a coward, he was terrified by a tiny little branch yesterday!

If Bob screams more than Slink, you are a stronger woman than me! Slinky drives me to the point of insanity on a daily basis. I have to say I love Bob's pad, and wonder whether Slinky might enjoy 'Slinky's chambre'.

Hmm, broadcasting webcam movies of your pussy... on very dodgy ground now!
I take back what I said earlier though, the quality doesn't look much better than what I have seen before. And black & white?

You can also use Boinx (can't remember the URL off-hand) to use iSight as a camcorder.

Cool, by the way - a video of Slinky, yeah! :-)

The black and white and effect on effect makes it look like some old news reel from days of yore - it just needs to be speeded up, though, I suppose, for the full effect.

Steve, good to have you back...The quality of the camera is fantastic, as I would expect from Apple. This is my third webcam. They always seemed like a good idea but the performance was always very poor. However, I rushed out and bought this after we had a one way video conversation with David TEFLSmiler [he was the brave one with the camera]. We were bowled over by the quality, and, this is all the evidence you need, Mrs McMuffin insisted that I buy one immediately. She would rather cut her hand off than buy a gadget. We are not a good match on that front.

PS...No, he didn't look as we expected. He was much better looking!
