Mrs McMuffin was insistent. This is the stuff of nightmares...apparently. You can also download a bit of the original 1963 theme music from here, or if you are really brave, you can relive those moments of Dalek terror here and here. Don't be afraid to go to sleep tonight...be very afraid!

Hmmmmmm. I guess to each his own terror. For me it was the War of the Worlds thingie with the 3 coloured eye that peeked in the window and made those horrible sounds.
Mom still reminds me to this day that I would stay up late and watch scary movies and proceed to go to bed leaving every light on from the end of the house with the TV to my bedroom.

For me it was Dr Who's 'The Brain of Morbius'. It was an episode where a nutty scientist, Solon, creates a 'Frankenstein' type monster from the brain of the most evil Time Lord ever, Morbius. He had a huge creepy looking claw, with which he tried to attack the doctor's assistant. I tell you, I was spooked for years!
My 7yr old son has watched Lord of the Rings with the orcs and all the other truly frightening Middle Earth creatures and doesn't bat an eyelid at them. Were we really soft back then or are all our children so desensitised monsters these days?

The scary thing for me re Dr Who was that some saddo girls at the Gymnastic competitions (that Mrs Carrot Cake and myself used to frequent) always used to use the theme tune as their floor routine. Now that is scary -a sinewy anorexic back flipping down the mat to the sounds of Darlektic synthesisers. Then again, I much preferred music from Barnum or Cats. AND I do recall Mrs Carrot Cake doing a routine to Kajagoogoo's "Too Shy"......... Who's sad now?

Just goes to show, scary is as scary does. Mrs CC, of course the brain of Morbius, that was so scary. What were those slimy green maggot things that killed everyone on the spaceship in Dr Who? They were rather worrisome too.

Mrs CC, you have bred a psychopath. I think you will find that most 7 years old children would be scared of LOR. It is just yours who isn't. Now that is scary.
